New Player
Development Program
Mission:
The program is designed to help
children experience the fun of playing soccer using small-sided
soccer games and developmental appropriate soccer activities. We
play games of 4 vs 4 to help the children to have more contact with
the ball. The players learn about field positioning. While they are
having fun with the planned activities, the young developmental
players will unknowingly develop the skills needed at an older age.
Sessions follow specific activity plans each week so the kids have
fun plus learn the soccer skills needed at older ages. The children
will be group according to ability so that they may advance at their
own pace but be challenged by the players in their group.
Eligibility:
The program is intended for girls
and boys entering Kindergarten and up to 7 years old. This program
is designed to foster the love of soccer for children that already

Program Guidelines:
 |
Parents must stay at the practice
field or gym during practice times
|
 |
Make sure your child has used the
restroom before they come to practice |
 |
Children must come with a water
bottle and ball to practice |
 |
Parents must pick their child up
at the field or gym so that children are not leaving and walking
out to the parking lot without an adult |
 |
Parents must sign up to
participate in two practices to help the coaches run the games
and activities. We try to keep the groups small to give the kids
attention and feedback that is needed at this age. |
 |
Children are expected to listen
and behave at practice. If a child is having difficulties they
will be given a reminder. The second time they are spoken to
they will have a time out to the side of the field. The third
time they will be asked to sit with their parent for 10 minutes. |
