New Player Development Program

 

The objective of this program is to give children the opportunity to participate in a program that teaches them the game of soccer and the skills necessary to be able to participate in traveling league play when they reach the appropriate age in an environment that promotes teamwork and the fun of the game.

 

Eligibility 

The program is intended for girls and boys 6 and 7 years old.

 

Program

The program will follow the typical Wayne Wings calendar, starting with indoor instruction in December and running through July on a once a week schedule, days to be determined.  Sessions will typically be 1.5 hours long with 1 hour of instruction and ½ hour of small games.

 

The players will be assigned a certified club coach.  The program will follow a curriculum that insures a good understanding of the skills necessary to play the game at a competent level, the critical nature of team play, the relationship between positions on the field, the structure of the field and the rules of the game.

 

Each participant will be registered in the club so that insurance is in effect, they will receive their own club uniform shirt.

 

Cost

The cost per participant will typically be half of the registration fee for a full player,

$65 in 2008, these funds will be needed to offset the cost of renting training space.

 

 

Registration process

Fill out a tryout form and send in (under forms on home page). Do Not send any money and Do Not go to tryout sessions. Coaches will contact you when teams are formed.
