Codes of Conduct

(adopted from the U.S.Y.S.A.)

Player's Code

  • Play the game for the game's sake.

  • Be generous in winning and graceful in losing.

  • Be fair always, at all cost.

  • Obey the laws of the game

  • Work for the good of your team.

  • Accept the decisions of your coaches and officials with good grace.

  • Believe in the honesty of your opponents.

  • Conduct yourself with honor and dignity.

  • Strive to always do your best.

Parent's Code

  • Lead by example, not criticism.

  • Make your child's athletic experience a positive one.

  • Attempt to relieve the pressure of competition, not intensify it.

  • Be kind and respectful to all players, coaches and officials.

  • Applaud good play by your child, his or her teammates and their opponents.

  • Leave coaching to your child's coach.

  • Accept the results of each game and encourage your child to do the same.

  • Help your child understand that winning also means doing their best.
